There is still time to enter the Digital Photographic Competition which St. David’s is running in partnership with St. Kentigern’s. The purpose of this competition is to produce a 2009 calendar in order to raise funds for both Hospices.
The theme for this is ‘People and Places in North Wales.’
Entries should be digital format, in full colour, in landscape, and received by Friday, 28th March 2008. The winning photographs will be included in the calendar, and the overall winner (cover picture) will receive a £100 voucher from Cambrian Photography, Colwyn Bay. For an entry form please contact St. David’s Hospice 01492 879058 or St. Kentigern Hospice 01745 585221
Tickets are now available for the Sixties and Seventies, and Motown Evening at the Deganwy Castle Hotel on Saturday 5th April (8pm) tickets are £5 and are available from the Hospice. Contact Beth or Marie on 01492 879058 (Mon – Fri 9am - 5pm).
On Saturday, 5th April Lesley and Martin Leeds will be cycling from Bangor to Connah’s Quay along the North Wales Cycle Route. This Sponsored Fancy Dress Cycle Ride is being undertaken in memory of Terry Parry, a talented musician and good friend to all who knew him. Terry was cared for at St. David’s which he affectionately called The Hilton, and Lesley said, ‘Prior to having cancer, Terry enjoyed riding his bike, so we thought we would honour his memory and raise much needed funds for the Hospice. Come rain or shine, this is happening on 5th April so if you would like to donate to this worthy cause, especially in memory of Terry Parry, please contact the Hospice on 01492 879058.’
On Sunday, 20th April we will be Walking the Planks of Llandudno Pier and hope that you will join us in this sponsored walk with a difference.
Everyone taking part will walk 5 miles on this historic landmark, and hopefully amongst the participants there will be many pirates!
The walk will begin at the Happy Valley Gates (next to Paddy’s Bait and Tackle Shop). Each walker will be issued with a special card which will be hole punched on the completion of each circuit, therefore making it easy to keep a tally on the distance covered. For those who wish to take a break during the course of the walk (approx. 2 hours), the café at the end of the pier will be open for business. Alternatively why not bring a picnic. This is not so much an endurance test as a good day out for the family!
For further details or an information pack please contact Beth or Marie on 01492 879058
There will be a Evening of European Food and Song at Llandrillo College, Rhos on Sea on Wednesday, 30th April, in aid of St. David’s and St. Kentigern’s Hospices, featuring Amica del Canto (conductor Nigel Shaw).
Tickets are £12.50 and are available from Janet Jones at St. Kentigern Hospice (01745 585221)
