This Sunday (18th) the Maenan Hall Gardens are open for the benefit of St David’s Hospice.
The garden is at it’s very best in May; Laburnums, Ceanothus, Embothrium, Clematis, early Roses and a whole host of ornamental trees and shrubs will be flowering in the Upper gardens, and the Rhododendrons and wild flowers in the Dell and Glade, all with lovely views over the Conway valley and the Snowdonia foothills. Open from 10.30 am to 5.30pm, last entries 4.30pm. They are situated on the A470, two miles north of Llanrwst and one quarter of a mile south of the Maenan Abbey Hotel. Admission is £3.50 (£2.50 for children). Home made teas will be served.
There will be a coffee evening at the Henryd Community Hall on Friday 23rd May. To be opened at 7pm by Ann Pugh. All proceeds to St David’s Hospice. Tickets 50p.
The St David’s Hospice Twin Falls Walk is a new fundraising event for this June (1st). Based in and around Abergwyngregyn this reasonably challenging walk of approx. 6 miles takes in the spectacular Aber Falls (both the big and the little) and the glorious views from the North Wales Path. The Colwyn Choral Society is holding a Summer Concert in aid of St David’s Hospice on Saturday 7th June at the St John’s Methodist Church, Llandudno. The evening will include ‘Feel the Spirit – Spirituals arr. John Rutter, African Sanctus excerpts – Fanshawe, Geshwin & more! St. David’s Hospice Summer Ball Friday, 27th June 2008 will be taking place in a Marquee in the grounds of Fugro Robertson. Tickets £60 per person includes champagne reception,4 course dinner & table wine dancing to music to suit all tastes, Grand Auction & Raffle.
