Photo: The Chairman of Cor Meibion Maelgwn, Rhodri Hampson Jones, presented Nicola Hughes and Jackie Cornish (Hospice Health Care Support Workers) with a cheque for £1,1160. This money was raised by a retiring collection after the St. David’s Celebration Concert held at Venue Cymru, and includes £500 match funding from the Royal Mail Group.Many thanks to all concerned.

The Annual Hospice Summer Fete will take place on the Saturday, 26th July. William Roache will once again do the honours and preside over the official opening, which is due to take place at 1pm. Any contributions – bric a brac, raffle prizes, cakes, plants etc. will be gratefully received.
The Dawn Walk (for women only) – Saturday, 16th August, starting from Aberconwy School at first light. Please join us for what is sure to be a great event. The closing date for entries is 1st August or earlier if we are oversubscribed. So register your interest without delay!
Although this walk is for women only we are hoping that husbands, partners etc. will be willing to help out at registration.

Vicky Arundel is taking part in the Costa Rica Open Trek 2009 in order to raise sponsorship for the Hospice, and is presently engaged in raising as much as she can through collections, car boot sales, and a special fundraising meal and raffle at Candles Restaurant on the 30th of June. Candles have kindly put the restaurant at her disposal for the night, and Vicky will by doing the cooking. The tickets have been brought by friends and family, and at last count it looks as though Vicky will have no problem filling the tables! We still have 3 places left for the British London 10k Run in July. If you are interested in running and helping to raise much needed funds (minimum £125 sponsorship) please call 01492 879058 for an information pack. Registration for this event closes on 27th June, so if you are tempted do not hesitate for too long.
We have 12 places available for anybody wishing to take part in the St. David’s Hospice Parachuting Day on Saturday, 6th September, at the airfield in Whitchurch.
