With a little help from his friends, Phil Edwards, Mayor of Bay of Colwyn, has stepped up his bid to raise record amounts for his chosen charities - St. David’s Hospice and Ty Gobaith.
On Monday, 16th March he will be holding a Charity Indian Dinner at the Cinnamon Lounge Restaurant, Colwyn Bay. Tickets which are £10 (normal price £14) are available from Cllr. Phil Edwards (see below for contact details). Don’t miss out. It will be a great night!
Also supporting Phil in his campaign are two local women who will run the London Marathon to boost funds. Former police officer Julie Yale and her friend Judith Jones are both experienced marathon runners and recently returned from running a marathon in Malta.
‘This is the second time this year Julie and Judith have been involved in sponsored runs for my charities and I really am in awe of them. They are fantastically fit and I’m so grateful for their brilliant support. ‘ says Phil.
Sponsorship forms for anyone wishing to support the two runners are available from Phil Edwards. Contact details: 01492 548741 or 07855 823989 or via e.mail cllr.phil.edwards@conwy.gov.uk

Information packs for our first sponsored walk of the season are now available, and we hope that lots of you out there will join us on the Llandudno Pier on Sunday, 26th April. Last year we had a great response to our ‘Walking the Planks’ event so now we have a variation on the theme with ‘Treading the Boards.’ The idea is that we walk 10 circuits of the Pier in order to clock up 5 miles. Fancy dress is optional but it would be great fun if everyone came dressed as a character from a pantomime, West End or Broadway Show! For details contact Beth or Marie on 01492 879058.
Coleg Llandrillo Cymru lecturer Pete Selley, 43, from Llandudno is running the Liverpool Half Marathon to raised money St. David’s.
If you would like to sponsor Pete he can be contacted on p.selley@llandrillo.ac.uk or you can make a pledge on his website which can be found on www.justgiving.com/peteselley
