Rhian and Bethan Kelbrick present Shirley Watson (St David’s Hospice Health Care Support Worker) with a cheque for £400. Rhian and Bethan celebrated their 40th birthdays in style at the Colwyn Bay Cricket Club and raised £800 for the two local hospices, St David’s adult Hospice and Ty Gobaith children’s Hospice.
The St David’s Hospice Summer Fete was a great success raising a record breaking £8104 for adult palliative care. The sun shone down as William Roache welcome everyone to the fete and fun was had by all. The fundraising department would like to thank everyone involved particularly the volunteers who manned the stalls. Without their help and hard work it wouldn’t have happened.
On the Thursday 30th of July, Gregory’s Jewellers in Llandudno are holding a Clogau Gold Sale. 10% of the sales will be donated to St David’s Hospice.
Deadline for the St David’s Hospice Dawn Walk registration forms is 1st August (this weekend) after this date you may still get a place but this can not be guaranteed. The Dawn Walk is a women only, sponsored 9 mile walk from Conwy to Llandudno (return). A start at first light – registration is 4.15am. Angie Tompkins who is doing a charity trek in China in 2010 is organising many events to help raise her sponsorship. Her next event is a Race Night, this Friday (31st July) at the Colwyn Bay Rugby Club. Doors open at 7.30pm – 1st Race at 8pm. Tickets £3 in advance from Angie: 01492 573413 or £5 on the door.
Maenan Hall Gardens Open Day takes place on Sunday 2nd August. All who visit the beautiful gardens are in for a real treat as the gardens are experiencing their best flowering in years. There will be a tea room run by the Red Cross will be serving delicious tea and cakes. The gardens will be open from 10.30am to 5.30pm with last entries at 4.30pm. Maenan Hall is situated on the A470 two miles north of Llanrwst, and a quarter of a mile south of Maenan Abbey Hotel. Admission: £3 (£2 for children) (All gates proceeds are to St David’s Hospice).
Join in the fun at the Pendyffryn Hall Fun Day on Saturday 8th August from 1pm onwards. Cake stall, Raffles, Tombola, Live entertainment and much more.
