Gary Eisenhauer of Conwy raises  £1115.90 for St David’s Hospice cycling unsupported from Lands End to John’s O’Groat covering a total of 1,292 miles over 19 days! Well Done Gary!

The St David’s Hospice Annual Great Orme Walk takes place this Sunday ( 27th) Anyone can take part, even if they haven’t registered. The walk follows the Marine Drive around the Orme starting and finishing at the hospice in Abbey Rd. It is a 6 miles walk which has fantastic views and a choice of stops for a well earned refreshment. Supporters can take part by either raising sponsorship or coming on the day and paying the entry fee – Adults £10 children £5. Join in the fun: optional fancy dress ‘Cops & Robbers’. Tickets are now available for the ‘Maelgwn Male Voice choir and friends’ concert which is in aid of St David’s Hospice and Ty Gobaith. Taking place at St John’s Methodist Church, Llandudno on Saturday 10th October. 8pm – doors open at 7.30pm. Conductor & Director: Trystan Lewis and Mezzo Soprano: Sian Wyn Gibson. There is a 60’s, 70’s Motown Night at the Deganwy Castle Hotel on Saturday 17th October. Tickets £5 from 01492 879058 or Dave Hanson on 07811323698.

The Gyffin WI group raised £171 at their Coffee Morning held last month. Thank to all the members and their friends, also to the 3 members which tool part in the Dawn Walk the next day! This event was part of the Great Coffee Morning Challenge in which we are hoping to raise £10,000 before 27th May 2010.  To take part all that’s needed is a church or community hall, or even your front room or garden, and a group of friends who aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. ‘Coffee Morning’ is very loose term and can apply to Coffee Evenings, Afternoon Tea Parties, Cheese & Wine, and Cocktail Parties, and that the Fundraising Co-ordinators at the Hospice are on hand to help with publicity, and any advice you may need. On Thursday 24th Sept, the Bay Health and Beauty Clinic, Conway Rd, Colwyn Bay are celebrating their new make over with an Open Event. 1pm – 7pm. Therapists will provide mini-facials, mini make-unders and facial lift massages (book in advance). There is a goodie bag for everyone and a raffle which will be drawn at 6pm. refreshments will be served all afternoon. Tickets £10. 50% of ticket proceeds will be donated to St David’s hospice. The next St David’s Hospice user/carer group meeting will be on Monday 19th October 11am at the hospice itself.
