Pete Selley (Coleg Llandrillo Lecturer) has been hard at work raising sponsorship and training for his forthcoming cycle ride from Llandudno to Blackpool on 11th August. Pete will follow the North Wales coast across into England, take a ferry across the Mersey, then continue along the west coast of England until he reaches his destination. A total distance of one hundred and twenty miles! Pete is doing this to raise funds for St David’s and to honour the memory of his friend Terry Williams who travelled this route (both ways) on a bike in 1955. Pete and co-rider Stephen Wartburton plan to complete this ride in eleven hours with a minimum five breaks at various checkpoints along the way. Good Luck boys!
Keen gardeners, and connoisseurs of fine cakes, will be please to hear that The Gardens at Maenan Hall, Llanrwst will be open to the public on Sunday 11th July for the benefit of St David’s Hospice. Maenan Hall is situated on the A470, 2 miles north of Llanrwst. Refreshments available. These, as always, will be provided by a team of Red Cross volunteers who have become justifiably renowned for their cakes.

This is so that we can ensure we have enough cherry red tee shirts (this year’s colour!); medals; and more importantly those bacon rolls!
