St David’s Hospice will again be holding its hugely popular 'Tree of lights’ ceremony on Cayley Promenade this November. Organised by the Rhos on Sea Rotary, it will be the eighth successive year, which invites people to remember the life of someone special to them who is no longer with us or to celebrate a special event in their life. Central to the ceremony is a tree featuring lights symbolising the lives of those being remembered or event being celebrated and it is switched on during the ceremony.The ceremony will be held on Sunday 25th December (4.30pm), on the Cayley Promenade, Rhos on Sea. Names are also recorded in the Book of Lights which is held at the hospice, and those remembering a loved one are sent a special card of acknowledgement.

The hospice is commencing a Book of Remembrance for those who have passed away at the hospice or have received support through the day hospice.
The Book will be located in the hospice’s chapel and any nearest relative who wishes an entry to be made can contact Christine Hamon at the hospice on 01492 879058 There will a service of dedication at the hospice for the Remembrance Book on Saturday November 3rd (2pm). Anybody wishing to attend please contact Christine Hamon by 29th October 2007.
This year’s St David’s Hospice Christmas Fair will be taking part on Saturday 24th November 10am-2pm. Donations for the various stalls would be gratefully received such as: cakes, plants, home made goods, raffle prizes. For further information please contact the fundraising dept on 01492 879058.
Due to popular demand, St David’s Hospice is holding a Spring Parachuting Day for hospice supporters on Sat 14th April. Anybody who would like to take part in a skydive from 10,0000ft should contact Beth or Marie for an information pack 01492 879058.
The Hospice has also secured six places, for a team to take part in the British 10K 2008, which is due to take place in London on Sunday, 6th July 2008. Anyone interested in joining the team should contact Beth or Marie on 01492 879058.
The Hospice Calendars and Christmas cards are available from all St David’s Hospice Charity Shops and the hospice itself in Abbey Rd. The bilingual calendar titled ‘A Year in North Wales’ includes photographs from across the area taken by members of the public as part of a calendar competition early. Price £3.
