Fundraising - 15th November 200715/11/2007
Norman and Thelma Hey of Llandudno Junction presented a cheque to the Chief Executive of St David’s Hospice, Alun Davies for £390. Norman Hey celebrated his 80th birthday with a dinner and dance, instead of presents from his friends and family, he asked for donations to St David’s Hospice.
With only six days to go until the St David’s Hospice Christmas Fair (Sat 24th November 10am -2pm, at the Hospice, Abbey Rd), the hospice fundraisers are appealing for donations of goods to sell on the various stalls including: plants, bottles, toys, bric-a-brac, books, raffle prizes, cosmetics, CD’s and DVDs. Listen to the sounds of the 60’s and 70’s at the Charity Northern Soul and Tamala Motown night which is being held in aid of St David’s and St Kentigern hospices. The night is taking place on Friday 23rd November 2007, 8.30pm at the Llandudno Junction Community Club, Victoria Drive and will be featuring DJ Mike Roberts. Admission is £5 (Pay on the door). Bar is open till 12.30am.
The Betws-y-Coed Support group are holding a Christmas Fayre in aid of St David’s Hospice at the Glan Aber Hotel, Betws on Saturday 24th November 12pm – 4pm Stalls will include cakes, Children’s stall, bric-a-brac, and crafts. Admission £1 includes coffee and mince pie (Children free).
The Tree of Lights will shine out on the Cayley Promenade in Rhos on Sea once again, as a focus for thoughts and memories of loved ones. The lights will be switched on at a special ceremony at 4.30pm, Sunday 25th November. All welcome.
Challenge for next year? The Hospice has secured six places, for runners to take part in the British 10K, which is due to take place in London on Sunday 6th July 2008. Anyone interested in taking part should contact Beth or Marie on 01492 879058.
